Job summary

Swift invites energetic students to join the Sanctions Testing (STS) team in Kuala Lumpur as an Intern Software/Systems Engineer for 6 months. You will gain hands-on experience in Java-based development, DevOps, cloud technologies, and Agile delivery while contributing to a business-critical application used by financial institutions worldwide.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Java programming and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a cross-functional Scrum team alongside experienced developers, testers, product managers, and technical leads.
• Assist in the development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of software components within the STS product.
• Learn and contribute to Java-based application development under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support the implementation of software features and bug fixes based on user stories and technical requirements.
• Assist in writing and maintaining automated tests to improve software quality and reliability.
• Learn software engineering best practices, including code reviews, version control, testing, and documentation.
• Gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps tooling.
