Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor Personnel (Interior Fit-out) to assist in preparing Bills of Quantities, tender submissions, and cost estimates, and to support procurement activities for interior fit-out projects.

The role covers reviewing BOQs, variation orders, and progress claims, monitoring cash flow and profitability, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to commercial risk strategies across multiple projects in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender submissions, and cost estimates.
• Lead tendering and procurement exercises, including subcontractor negotiations.
• Review BOQs, variation orders, progress claims, and contractual correspondence.
• Monitor project cash flow, margins, and profitability.
• Mentor and train junior commercial staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender submissions, and cost estimates.
• Support in issuing Purchase Orders (PO), Letters of Award (LOA), and Variation Orders (VO).
• Collect, compare, and analyze supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Maintain cost trackers, update procurement records, and support project claims.
• Lead tendering and procurement exercises, including subcontractor negotiations.
• Review BOQs, variation orders, progress claims, and contractual correspondence.
• Monitor project cash flow, margins, and ensure profitability.
• Conduct contract reviews and advise on commercial risk strategies.
• Mentor and train junior commercial staff.
• Develop and implement overall commercial strategies, policies, and systems.
• Lead the department in managing tenders, contracts, procurement, and cost controls.
• Negotiate major contracts and framework agreements with key stakeholders.
• Provide commercial risk assessments and strategic advice to management.
• Oversee project financial performance, dispute resolution, and claims management.
• Drive value engineering and commercial excellence across all projects.
