Job summary

ELSA in Johor is seeking an Instrument Engineer to provide technical engineering support for instrumentation and control systems across projects and operations. You will help develop and execute the Instrument Engineering Strategy, review technical documentation, and ensure compliance with standards.

You will perform loop checking, commissioning, start-up activities, troubleshoot field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level), and support PLC, DCS, SIS, and FGS safety systems, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation, control, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in instrumentation and control systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of PLC, DCS, SIS, and FGS systems.
• Experience in design, technical documentation, loop checking, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with international standards, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience.
• Conversant with Instrumentation & Control Systems and relevant field instruments.
• Hands-on knowledge of PLC, DCS, SIS, and FGS systems.
• Experience in engineering design, technical documentation, loop checking, function testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with applicable international standards, industry best practices, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection.
• Exposure to EPC, brownfield projects, commissioning, and start-up activities is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, coordination, and communication skills.
