Job summary

Golden Village Properties Sdn Bhd is seeking an on-site Inspector of Works to oversee daily construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings and regulations, and maintain quality workmanship. You will identify defects, coordinate with architects and consultants, and participate in progress meetings to support timely payments and certification.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering or related field, CIDB registration (preferred), 3–5 years of site experience, and strong reading,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or related field.
• Registered with CIDB as Inspector of Works (preferably).
• Minimum 3-5 years of site working experiences.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings independently.
• Strong coordination, reporting and communication skills.
• Willing to travel outstation.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Developer/Contractor on-site to oversee and monitor daily construction activities.
• Inspect works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, local authority requirements and industry standards.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure workmanship meets required standards.
• Identify, record and report defects, discrepancies and non-compliance issues.
• Coordinate closely with Architect, C&S and M&E consultants as well as contractors.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress and issue reports to the Developer.
• Assist in verifying site progress for contractor claims and payment certification.
• Maintain proper site records, including daily reports, inspection checklists and photo documentation.

• Local authority requirements (MBSP / relevant authorities)
• Industry standards and good construction practices

Carry out quality checks and ensure workmanship meets required standards

Identify, record and report defects, discrepancies and non-compliance issues

Coordinate closely with Architect, C & S and M & E consultants as well as contractors

Attend site meetings and provide regular progress and issue reports to the Developer

Assist in verifying site progress for contractor claims and payment certification

Maintain proper site records, including daily reports, inspection checklists and photo documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or related field.
• Registered with CIDB as Inspector of Works (preferably).
• Minimum 3-5 years of site working experiences.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings independently.
• Strong coordination, reporting and communication skills.
• Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work independently on site.
• Willing to travel outstation.
• Able to produce shop drawings for coordination will be added advantage.
