Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Inspector of Works for a railway project based in Penang. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and involves on-site supervision to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and standards, with the goal of delivering on schedule, within budget and with the required quality.

You will conduct routine inspections, monitor site activities, provide standing supervision for critical tasks, verify materials and equipment, and maintain inspection

• 10+ years of experience in railway/construction projects.
• Experience supervising on-site operations and conformance to drawings and specs.
• Willing to be based in Penang.

About the role
We are seeking an Inspector of Works for a railway project based in Penang, with a minimum of 10 years of experience. The Inspector of Works is responsible for providing onsite supervision by closely monitoring daily construction operations to safeguard against defects and deficiencies in contractors’ work. This role ensures that all work complies with approved drawings, specifications and standards, with the objective of completing projects on schedule, within budget and to the required quality.

What you’ll be doing

Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, design and specifications.

Monitor site activities, including temporary works, and address non-conformances.

Provide standing supervision for designated critical activities.

Verify that the materials and equipment used align with project standards.

Maintain accurate records of inspections and testing documentation.

What we’re looking for

Minimum 10 years of work experience in construction, specializing in railway, depot projects or related fields.

Background in C&S, Viaduct, M&E or Material/QAQC is preferred.

Willing to be based in Penang.
