Currie & Brown is seeking an Inspector of Works (Architectural) for data centre projects in Malaysia. You will conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and quality of architectural works in line with drawings, specs, and ITPs.

You will review finishes, façade systems, roofing, waterproofing, and interfaces with other disciplines, identify defects, report them, and prepare inspection reports and NCRs while coordinating with the project team to ensure timely closure and compliance with

Qualificações

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and quality of architectural works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Inspect architectural finishes and installations including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, roofing systems, waterproofing works, and external façade elements.
• Review and monitor the agreed Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) developed by the General Contractor (GC).
• Identify defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues, and promptly report them to the Resident Engineer and project team.
• Prepare Installation Inspection Reports (IIR) and follow up on corrective actions and close-out of outstanding items.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) where works do not comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, or project quality standards.
• Monitor and track the timely closure of NCRs raised against contractors.
• Witness material inspections and verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved samples, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review mock-ups and sample installations to ensure compliance with design intent and quality expectations.
• Monitor the General Contractor's construction activities and prepare weekly reports covering: site observations and discrepancies identified; quality-related issues and corrective actions; progress updates and inspection photographs; site cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve site-related issues affecting quality and progress.
• Verify that completed architectural works have been inspected, tested (where applicable), and signed off prior to handover.
• Ensure protection of completed works and finishes during construction activities.
• Attend project coordination and quality meetings as required.
• Monitor compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements while carrying out inspection activities.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural inspection, site supervision, or quality assurance within building, industrial, commercial, mission-critical, or data centre projects.
• Experience in data centre projects will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of architectural finishes, building materials, workmanship standards, and construction methodologies.
• Hands-on experience inspecting architectural works including finishes, waterproofing, façade systems, doors, ceilings, raised floors, wall systems, and roofing works.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection test plans.
• Familiarity with quality control processes, inspections, defect management, snagging, and close-out procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify construction defects and non-compliant works.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet project deadlines.
• Positive attitude, proactive approach, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Possession of a relevant Inspector of Works certification.
