Job summary

Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Diploma/Certificate holder to assist Industrial Engineers with layout planning, line setup, and process optimization on the manufacturing floor.

You will support assembling tasks, troubleshoot tools and equipment, and participate in lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity, while maintaining thorough records and helping update work instructions and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certificate in an Engineering Field and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Familiarity with basic lean concepts and continuous improvement is an advantage
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence

Responsibilities

• Provide support to IE Engineer in planning layout, standardization, line setup, coordination, and resource optimization
• Perform assembly and process tasks according to approved work instructions, drawings, and SOPs
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment
• Support new process introductions, line setup, process changes, and pilot runs
• Assist in time studies, work measurement, and process validation activities
• Support Industrial Engineers in lean initiatives, productivity improvement, and waste reduction (e.g. Kaizen, line balancing)
• Provide feedback on assembly methods and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics
• Assist in implementing standardized work and best practices across production lines
• Maintain accurate records of process parameters, output, and issues encountered
• Assist with updating work instructions, process flow documents, and visual aids
• Support audits and compliance requirements as required
