Job summary

Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an Engineering Support role to assist IE Engineers in planning layout, line setup, and process improvements across assembly lines.

The candidate will help in time studies, SOP adherence, and 6S activities while contributing to waste reduction and standardized work across production lines. Diploma in engineering and basic lean knowledge preferred; experience in consumer electronics manufacturing is advantageous.

• Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with lean concepts and continuous improvement is an advantage.
• Able to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and process tasks according to work instructions, drawings, and SOPs
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment
• Support new process introductions, line setup, process changes, and pilot runs
• Assist in time studies, work measurement, and process validation
• Support lean initiatives, productivity improvement, and waste reduction
• Provide feedback on assembly methods and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics
• Assist in implementing standardized work and best practices across production lines
• Maintain records of process parameters, output, and issues encountered
• Assist with updating work instructions, process flow documents, and visual aids
• Support audits and compliance requirements as required

Provide support to the IE Engineer or Senior IE Engineer in planning layout, standardization, line setup, coordination, and resource optimization. Support new line setup and 6S activities.

Key responsibilities

Perform assembly and process tasks according to approved work instructions, drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment

Support new process introductions, line setup, process changes, and pilot runs

Assist in time studies, work measurement, and process validation activities

Support Industrial Engineers in lean initiatives, productivity improvement, and waste reduction (e.g. Kaizen, line balancing)

Provide feedback on assembly methods and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics

Assist in implementing standardized work and best practices across production lines

Maintain accurate records of process parameters, output, and issues encountered

Assist with updating work instructions, process flow documents, and visual aids

Support audits and compliance requirements as required

Education & Experience Requirements

Diploma / Certificate in an Engineering Field and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes

Familiarity with basic lean concepts and continuous improvement is an advantage

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Able to write routine reports and correspondence
