Job summary

Western Digital seeks an IE Engineer to evaluate and improve manufacturing systems, collect process data, and drive productivity across the production floor. You will analyze layouts, monitor capacity, and lead improvements with cross-functional teams, supervising IE technicians as needed.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering with strong analytical skills; Six Sigma knowledge and BRISCAD/Excel proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related discipline.
• Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of data-driven improvements.
• Good communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing, delivery, customer experience, or other systems and identify ways to improve productivity and quality.
• Collect data on processes and production through observations of work activities, time studies, and staff surveys.
• Optimize, plan, and analyze new machine layout; monitor equipment capacity and drive bottleneck improvements.
• Collaborate across functions to understand productivity issues and propose continuous improvements to processes.
• Generate statistics periodically to ensure improvement targets are met.
• Assist in projects to improve factory efficiency; supervise IE technicians on tasks.
