Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead capacity planning and continuous improvement across Final Test, Backend and related manufacturing areas in Malaysia. The role requires hands-on experience in throughput optimization, line balancing, and data-driven improvements, with a focus on Lean and Six Sigma practices.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams, develop models and ROI analyses, and drive projects from concept to implementation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Senior level: 5+ years with demonstrated project leadership.
• Semiconductor assembly/test/backend experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience in capacity planning, time study, OEE improvement, layout, labor optimization, and cost/productivity projects.
• Advanced Excel; Power BI or other dashboard/data visualization experience preferred.
• AutoCAD or equivalent layout software knowledge.
• Lean, Six Sigma, value-stream mapping; structured problem solving.
• Strong communication, influencing, collaboration, and ownership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own short-, medium-, and long-range capacity planning for Final Test, Backend, and supporting manufacturing processes.
• Develop capacity models, equipment loading plans, and scenario analyses to align output capability with demand and revenue requirements.
• Identify bottleneck equipment and processes; establish recovery plans and track actions to closure.
• Lead time studies, cycle-time analysis, line balancing, labor-resource studies, and productivity improvement.
• Monitor OEE, output entitlement versus actual performance, utilization, throughput, and downtime; drive corrective actions.
• Lead factory and test-floor layout optimization using AutoCAD or equivalent tools, including equipment moves and expansion planning.
• Prepare ROI, CapEx justification, and capacity-gap proposals for equipment, automation, and process changes.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, waste elimination, standard work, and continuous improvement projects with measurable results.
• Maintain accurate IE data, assumptions, standards, dashboards, capacity databases, and planning systems.

Role Purpose

Lead industrial engineering activities and convert operational data into executable plans. Work across Production, Equipment, Process, Planning, Account, Quality, and Automation teams to close performance gaps.

Position level will be determined based on relevant experience, technical depth, leadership capability, and demonstrated improvement results. Both levels share the same core scope; the senior level carries greater project leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional ownership.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI or other dashboard and data-visualization experience is preferred.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent layout software.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, value-stream mapping, structured problem-solving, and project management.

• Strong communication, influencing, collaboration, and ownership skills.
