Job summary

NI Malaysia Sdn Bhd, part of Emerson's Test & Measurement business, is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer to lead factory capacity planning and capacity-model development in support of growth and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, update models for NPI and process changes, and optimize layout, equipment placement, and flow to ensure capacity meets forecasted demand.

Qualifications

• Degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
• 2 to 5 years of related experience in capacity and layout.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with capacity analysis (short-term and long-term, including capital expenditure planning) and the ability to enhance existing capacity models for faster and more accurate analysis.
• Good leadership and strong communication skills to drive capacity improvements.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a high-volume production environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of factory capacity planning methodologies and manufacturing flow optimization (preferred).
• Experience developing and improving capacity models to support strategic business decisions (preferred).
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions to achieve operational objectives (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own short-term and long-term capacity planning for the factory.
• Ensure capacity aligns with forecasted demand and business requirements.
• Perform monthly capacity analysis and present findings, risks, and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
• Create, maintain, and improve capacity models.
• Update models to reflect NPI introductions, process changes, cycle time improvements, and equipment additions.
• Work closely with the Test Engineering Team to ensure capacity analysis uses the latest test times, yield data, and process information.
• Provide support for factory layout planning when required.
• Optimize equipment placement, space utilization, and manufacturing flow.
