Job summary

Emerson Malaysia, Bayan Lepas, is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer to ensure factory capacity aligns with forecasted demand and to drive continuous improvement in capacity analysis, modeling, and utilization.

You will own short- and long-term capacity planning, develop and update capacity models, and collaborate with the Test Engineering Team to incorporate latest test times, yields, and process data into decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of related experience in capacity and layout
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with capacity analysis (short-term and long-term, including capex) and ability to enhance existing capacity models for faster and more accurate analysis
• Good leadership and strong communication skills to drive capacity improvements

Responsibilities

• Own short-term and long-term capacity planning for the factory.
• Ensure capacity aligns with forecasted demand and business requirements.
• S&OP capacity analysis: Perform monthly capacity analysis. Present findings, risks, and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
• Create, maintain, and improve capacity models.
• Update models to reflect NPI introductions, process changes, cycle time improvements, and equipment additions.
• Work closely with the Test Engineering Team.
• Provide support for factory layout planning when required; optimize equipment placement, space utilization, and manufacturing flow.
