Job summary

VECERA MARKETING SDN BHD seeks an enthusiastic Indoor Sales Assistant in Kuantan, Malaysia. You will be the face of the store, delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales through product knowledge and engaging interactions.

In this full-time role, you will greet customers, demonstrate products, process transactions, and maintain an inviting store environment while meeting sales targets and upselling where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a retail assistant or in a customer-facing sales role within retail or consumer products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse customers.
• Excellent customer service orientation with a passion for helping customers find what they need.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer interactions.
• Basic numeracy and proficiency with POS systems or willingness to learn.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist with stock.
• Reliable, punctual and professional in appearance and conduct.
• Knowledge of retail best practices and inventory management (preferred).
• Fluency in Malay and English (preferred); other languages advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Indoor Sales Assistant to join our retail team in Kuantan, Pahang. In this role, you will be the face of our business, delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales through engaging product knowledge and genuine customer interactions. You will work in a dynamic retail environment, supporting customers throughout their shopping journey and contributing to a positive store atmosphere. This is a full-time position based in our store location in Kuantan.

What you’ll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and professionally as they enter the store, creating a welcoming shopping environment
• Providing expert product knowledge and recommendations tailored to individual customer needs and preferences
• Assisting customers with product selection, demonstrations and comparisons to facilitate informed purchasing decisions
• Processing transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
• Maintaining an organised, clean and visually appealing store environment, including stock replenishment and merchandise displays
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously, resolving issues where possible
• Meeting sales targets and contributing to overall store performance through active selling and upselling techniques
• Keeping up to date with current promotions, pricing and product information to effectively communicate with customers
• Supporting stock management activities, including receiving, checking and labelling merchandise
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer service delivery

What we’re looking for

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously
• Basic numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems or a willingness to learn quickly
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry stock items, and move around the store environment
• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining professional standards in appearance and conduct
• Knowledge of retail best practices and familiarity with retail inventory management systems (preferred)
• Fluency in Malay and English (preferred); additional language skills are advantageous
