Job summary

FWD Group in Malaysia seeks a Senior Actuarial professional to lead the IFRS 17/MFRS 17 valuation team, delivering accurate and timely valuation and reporting for regulatory compliance and BAU operations. You will collaborate with Finance, IT, Risk, and cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong actuarial expertise in life takaful, plus proven leadership and change-management capabilities to establish robust processes and analytics supporting management decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in actuarial science or quantitative discipline.
• Actuarial qualification, progress toward qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in life insurance or family takaful actuarial work with IFRS 17/MFRS 17 exposure.
• Ability to translate technical results into business insights.
• Experience managing valuation processes, reporting cycles, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IFRS 17/MFRS 17 valuation team and mentor staff.
• Oversee end-to-end valuation and reporting to meet regulatory and governance standards.
• Maintain robust valuation frameworks, assumptions, and disclosures.
• Drive continuous improvement in valuation systems, data flows, and automation.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Risk, and Product teams for accurate reporting.
