Job summary

Maybank is seeking an experienced IDMS database administrator to manage and optimize IDMS databases on the mainframe. You will monitor, maintain, and implement changes to database structure and data to ensure security and availability.

The role requires strong IDMS programming knowledge, JCL expertise, and experience migrating ADS and DC-COBOL programs to QA and production, with the ability to troubleshoot using online monitors and perform recoveries when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience administering IDMS databases on mainframe environments.
• Strong knowledge of IDMS and IDMA database structures.
• Ability to research and resolve issues independently.
• Proficient in JCL and batch processing.
• Experience migrating ADS and DC-COBOL programs to QA/production.
• Capable of installing/upgrading IDMS and third-party software.
• Familiar with other DB platforms (DB2, SQL Server, Teradata).
• Maintain backups and data recovery procedures.
• Use online monitors for runtime problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and maintain IDMS databases.
• Make requested changes to database structure and data.
• Ensure database security, integrity, stability and availability.
• Monitor/tune CV and batch performance (SYGEN, DMCL buffers).
• Perform database changes (restructure, unload/reload, rollback and roll forward).
• Migrate ADS and DC-COBOL programs to QA and production.
• Install and upgrade IDMS and third-party software.
• Ensure backup procedures are in place.
• Perform data recovery, including rollback and roll forward.
• Use online monitors to resolve run-time problems (pre-alert).
