Job summary

bp in Malaysia is seeking a Core Finance Analyst to deliver high-quality management information, valuation oversight and data-driven insights within a hybrid finance role. You’ll work across product streams, support new activity implementations and drive continuous improvement with a cross-functional team.

The role emphasizes independent judgement, strong data controls and collaboration with Front Office, technology and risk advisory to ensure accurate valuations and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, business, engineering, data or related field.
• 6-7 years of relevant experience in commodity trading finance, valuation control, management information, commercial or new activity delivery, project delivery, operational improvement or a comparable analytical environment.
• Experience with physical or financial commodity valuations, trading and reporting data, functional assurance, business implementation, improvement in execution, automation in agile delivery or global service models.

Responsibilities

• Independently deliver high-quality management information and performance analysis, investigate movements and data issues, explain valuations and actions.
• Perform valuation review activities for portfolios, assess input data, curves, models and methodologies.
• Support new commercial activity from assessment through implementation with delivery plans and handover to BAU.
• Lead defined improvement initiatives using project delivery, process redesign and change management to simplify or automate work.
• Own processes end-to-end, maintain documentation and adapt across Core Finance activities as needed.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance, Controllership, Finance & Risk Advisory, Front Office, technology and service-delivery teams to resolve data and process issues.
