Job summary

MYNEWS Ryoyupan Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an HVACR Maintenance Technician to perform scheduled PMs for chillers, air-conditioning systems, and refrigeration equipment, and to conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and adjustments to keep equipment safe and efficient.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration faults, carry out repairs, service commercial refrigeration, and document activities with safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, SKM, Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in HVACR maintenance, preferably in retail, commercial, or food & beverage environments.
• Knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chillers, freezers, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Possess a valid GDL Licence or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) for chillers, freezers, air-conditioning systems, and refrigeration equipment.
• Attend to maintenance breakdown tickets and emergency equipment failures within the required SLA.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system faults.
• Carry out repairs and replacement of defective parts where required.
• Service and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment, including chillers, freezers, display chillers, etc.
• Document and report activities; ensure safety & compliance.

To carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) systems and equipment to ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably with minimal downtime.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) for chillers, freezers, air-conditioning systems, and refrigeration equipment.
• Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, servicing, and adjustment of HVACR equipment.
• Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions before breakdown occurs.

Breakdown & Troubleshooting

• Attend to maintenance breakdown tickets and emergency equipment failures within the required SLA.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system faults.
• Troubleshoot compressors, condenser units, evaporators, expansion valves, thermostats, sensors, contactors, relays, capacitors, and other HVACR components.
• Carry out repairs and replacement of defective parts where required.
• Service and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment, including Chillers, Freezer, Display chillers and etc.

Required Skills:

• Minimum SPM, SKM, Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1-3 years of experience in HVACR maintenance, preferably in retail, commercial, or food & beverage environments.
• Knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chillers, freezers, compressors, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Possess a valid GDL Licence or be willing to obtain one.
• Possess a valid Malaysian Class D driving licence and be willing to travel extensively to MYNEWS outlets.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, or on-call when required.

Qualification:

• SKM Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent certification.
• Experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment, display chillers, walk-in chillers/freezers, and split-unit or cassette airconditioning systems.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and basic electrical troubleshooting.

Pay: From RM2,500.00 per month
