NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to support offshore modular projects in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. You will design HVAC systems for E-Houses and offshore modules, performing heat-load, airflow and duct sizing calculations while developing layouts and associated documentation.

The role requires hands-on HVAC engineering experience, plus ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in FAT, testing and commissioning.

Qualifikationen

HVAC Design Engineer – E-House / Offshore Projects

Job Description

NES Fircroft is currently supporting a leading global engineering and technology organisation in the search for an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to support major offshore and modular engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering and technical execution of HVAC systems for E-Houses, offshore modules and associated electrical/utility spaces.

This is a design-focused position requiring strong hands-on HVAC engineering experience, including heat-load calculations, equipment sizing, ducting and piping design, pressure-drop calculations, ventilation requirements and preparation/review of engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC system design and engineering for E-Houses, offshore modules, electrical rooms and other packaged/modular facilities.
• Carry out heat-load calculations, cooling-load calculations, airflow calculations and equipment sizing based on project requirements.
• Perform duct sizing and pressure-drop calculations for ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
• Develop and review HVAC system layouts, ducting layouts, piping layouts and equipment arrangements.
• Select and specify HVAC equipment including ACCU, AHU, FCU, ventilation fans, dampers and associated HVAC components.
• Design HVAC solutions for specialised electrical areas including switchgear rooms, UPS rooms, battery rooms, control rooms and equipment rooms.
• Prepare and review HVAC P&IDs, schematics, equipment specifications, datasheets, calculations and technical documentation.
• Review vendor technical submissions and ensure equipment complies with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate HVAC requirements with Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, Instrumentation and Project Engineering teams.
• Ensure HVAC equipment and ducting are properly integrated within E-House/module space and structural constraints.
• Support HVAC control philosophy and interface requirements with relevant control and monitoring systems.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Participate in technical discussions and design reviews with clients, vendors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and resolve technical issues identified during fabrication and testing.
• Review project specifications and ensure HVAC designs comply with applicable offshore, marine and project-specific requirements.
• Provide technical support for engineering changes and modifications throughout project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant hands-on experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
• Previous experience supporting E-House, offshore, marine, FPSO, Oil & Gas or modular engineering projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC heat-load calculations, airflow calculations, duct sizing, pressure-drop calculations and equipment selection.
• Experience designing HVAC systems for electrical rooms, switchgear rooms, UPS/battery rooms or similar technical environments would be highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of HVAC equipment including ACCU, AHU, FCU, ventilation systems, fans, dampers and associated controls.
• Experience preparing/reviewing HVAC P&IDs, layouts, schematics, datasheets and technical specifications.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, client specifications and multidisciplinary project information.
• Experience coordinating with equipment vendors and reviewing vendor documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and technical problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on HVAC Design Engineer with experience delivering HVAC engineering for E-Houses, offshore modules, FPSOs or marine/Oil & Gas environments.

Candidates whose experience is predominantly building maintenance, facilities management or site HVAC servicing without significant design engineering exposure may not be suitable.

Strong experience with HVAC calculations, equipment selection, ducting/airflow design and engineering documentation, combined with offshore or E-House project exposure, will be particularly relevant.
