Job summary

HV Operation Engineer at NUR Power Sdn Bhd will monitor, operate, and manage the LV, 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV distribution network in Kulim Hi-Tech Park. You will coordinate switching operations, outages, and system improvements to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, professional engineer with practising cert, and at least five years’ experience in operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Registered as Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years in operation/maintenance of electrical distribution network.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage LV to 132kV distribution network.
• Coordinate switching operations and outages.
• Plan and prepare switching plans.
• Maintain distribution grid single line diagrams.
• Lead operation technicians and SCADA staff.
• Ensure safety compliance and perform safety audits.

Job description

HV Operation Engineer is responsible for the monitoring, operation, and management of NUR’s LV, 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV distribution network. The role shall manage switching operations, outage coordination, network performance, and system improvement activities to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient power distribution system.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitoring and Management of Distribution Network System (LV, 11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV)
• Switching operation of Distribution System Assets
• Planning the operations of Distribution System Assets
• Plan and Prepare Switching Plan
• Maintain HV & MV grid network Single Line Diagram
• Perform plant outage and network system outage coordination
• Set priorities, coordinate and control field response crews (operation & SCADA technician) in switching throughout the network
• Managing of Distribution Operation Technicians and Distribution SCADA Technicians.
• Monitors and analyses system parameter compliance and performance.
• Liaison with commercial unit and customers and customers’ representative when required.
• Preparation, implementation and review of Distribution Operation Procedures, Safety Rule and Standing Instructions.
• Ensuring safe working and compliance with Distribution Safety Rules.
• Conduct safety audits.
• Do standby duties.
• Any other responsibilities that may be required, in the interests of the Company from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Hold Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate.
• At Least 5 years of working experience in operation and maintenance of an electrical distribution network.
