Job summary

Vantage Data Centers LLC in Malaysia is seeking a 275kV Resident Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems in a mission-critical data centre. You will perform switching, fault response, and preventive/corrective maintenance while adhering to SOPs, PTW, and LOTO procedures.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years HV experience, HT certification, and strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication for

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 275kV certified engineer (HT) recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in high-voltage electrical systems or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical distribution systems, switching operations and safety procedures.
• Experience with CMMS systems & BMS and electrical monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
• Good communication and coordination skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia

Site Operations Department

Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) working on shift. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guaranty of business continuity and excellence of Operations of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track maintenance activities, the Site Operations department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance. Position Description

The 275kv Resident Engineer, Malaysia is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of all electrical systems within the facility, including high-voltage and low-voltage infrastructure such as switchgear, transformers, RMUs, and backup power systems. This role is critical in maintaining 24/7 uninterrupted power supply, performing switching operations, responding to electrical faults, and supporting both preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The HT Chargeman acts as a first responder during electrical incidents, ensuring rapid fault isolation and system restoration while minimizing operational downtime. The position requires strong technical expertise in high-voltage systems, strict adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to perform effectively in a mission critical data centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance scheduling, work orders, and operational planning.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including High Voltage (275kV, 33kV, 11kV) and Low Voltage (415V, 240V).
• Perform electrical switching activities including Isolation, energization, de-energization, earthing and restoration of systems.
• Execute all switching strictly in accordance with approved SOPs, PTW, and LOTO procedures.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and utility providers such TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad), DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) & Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
• Monitor and analyse daily power consumption.
• Provide hand on support for operations
• Support system restoration and corrective maintenance activities.
• Participate in MOP & EOP drills and operational readiness exercises.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Participate in audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies, PTW, and LOTO procedures.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 275kV competent engineer certification (HT) recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in high-voltage electrical systems or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical distribution systems, switching operations and safety procedures
• Experience with CMMS systems & BMS and electrical monitoring tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
