Job summary

MRG Global seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead a major hotel refurbishment project in Johor, Malaysia. You will oversee all on-site construction activities in a live hospitality environment, ensuring safety, quality and alignment with client expectations.

You will coordinate across architectural, interior design and structural workstreams, drive the programme and act as the primary site-based representative to clients, operators and contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field.
• 8–12 years experience in construction management, hotel refurbishments or major interior upgrades.
• Experience on fast-track refurbishment projects within live environments.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage contractors and multi-discipline teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities for a large-scale hotel refurbishment.
• Coordinate across architectural, interior design, and structural workstreams.
• Drive the construction programme to ensure safety, efficiency and quality.
• Act as the site-based representative with client, hotel operator and contractors.
• Monitor progress, assess risks and mitigate delays in a live hotel environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, QA/QC and governance requirements.
• Support change control, variation assessments and reporting.
