Job summary

Fairfield by Marriott Sabah is seeking a hotel maintenance engineer responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting building operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, some experience in general maintenance, and a valid Driver's License. Training will cover air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Display knowledge in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair various equipment and fixtures.
• Program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures for maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs and routine upkeep.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards or injuries.
