Job summary

Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur is seeking a diligent Cashier/Accounts Clerk to support daily accounting tasks within a hotel environment.

You will process guest payments, manage cash and invoices, and assist with month-end closing while ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls. The role requires attention to detail, integrity, and good communication with guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Completed secondary education; qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field is advantageous.
• Proven experience as Cashier, Accounts Clerk, or similar accounting role, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong proficiency with cash handling, POS systems, and accounting software.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail with high accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Integrity and confidentiality of financial information.

Responsibilities

• Processing and recording cash transactions, including guest payments, refunds, and departmental transactions.
• Maintaining accurate cash registers and POS systems throughout the hotel.
• Performing daily cash reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Preparing daily cash reports and banking documents for submission to the Finance department.
• Handling and safeguarding cash, cheques, and other financial instruments in accordance with hotel policies.
• Processing guest invoices and managing accounts receivable activities.
• Supporting the accounts team with general bookkeeping and administrative duties.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit procedures, and financial regulations.
• Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.
• Providing excellent customer service to guests and staff regarding payment queries and financial matters.
