Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Malaysia is seeking a Highway/Transport Engineer with hands-on design experience to join our civil engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. You will contribute to highway and road design projects, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and help deliver designs that meet quality and statutory requirements.

Requirements include a Degree in Civil Engineering, at least 4 years of highway/road design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of rail and highway project development, planning, engineering design, and coordination.
• Utilise computer modelling software for analysis and design with Civil 3D proficiency.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate design drawings and technical documentation.
• Produce clear reports and support technical and management reporting.
• Assist with drainage design and analysis including stormwater/sewerage aspects.
• Engage with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to drive project delivery.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety standards and statutory requirements.
• Assist in project/work scheduling, tender documentation, and on-site inspections.

• Participate in all stages of rail and highway project development, including planning, engineering design, technical specifications, and project coordination
• Utilise computer modelling software and engineering tools for analysis and design. Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D for design coordination, modelling, and production of engineering drawings
• Experience in engineering drawing production including the preparation, review, and coordination of design drawings, technical documentation and project deliverables to a high standard of quality and accuracy
• Strong report writing skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and well-structured technical and management reports.
• Experience in drainage design and analysis including stormwater and sewerage design.
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills with experience liaising effectively with Clients, consultants, contractors, authorities and multi-disciplinary project teams to facilitate project delivery and resolve technical issues
• Ensure adherence to relevant quality and safety standards, procedures and statutory requirements
• Assist with project / work scheduling and management
• Assist with the preparation of tender documentation
• Assist with on-site inspections and commissioning witnessing (rolling stock)

• Carry out design to meet the client and statutory requirements

• Assist in the delivery of multiple projects or part of larger projects from start to complete and to meet the clients expectation, cost and programme
• Assist in inputs for project calculations plans, specifications and technical papers within time and budget parameters while satisfying client and contractual obligations
• Offer support and guidance to other members of the team
