Job summary

SEGi University & Colleges is seeking a senior academic administrator to oversee teaching, services and activities for the School of IT (SoIT) and drive academic affairs development.

The role involves coordinating business development via market research, collaborating with Marketing on partnerships, and ensuring the financial viability of SoIT programmes. A PhD or Master’s in IT with 5–7 years in higher education is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Information Technology or IT-related disciplines.
• Minimum 5–7 years of teaching or work experience, preferably in higher education.
• Strong knowledge in AI, Cybersecurity, Data Science or related IT fields.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate teaching, services and activities for the School of IT (SoIT).
• Assist in coordinating and developing business development activities through market research and analysis.
• Collaborate with Marketing on smart partnerships, projects, seminars and forums.
• Lead programme development and manage financials and profitability of SoIT programmes.

Job description

• To oversee and coordinate teaching, services and activities for the School of IT (SoIT) and academic affairs development for all relevant departments.


• To assist in coordinating and developing business development activities through market and industrial research, analysis of the workplace systems and information system design, and derive relevant projects to improve the student population growth for the School of IT.


• To work closely with the Marketing team on the smart partnership, projects, seminars and forums and etc.


• To be responsible for programmes development, financial and profitability of the SoIT programmes.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD in Information Technology (IT) or IT-related disciplines, such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or other relevant IT fields.


• Minimum 5–7 years of working and/or teaching experience, preferably in higher education, including experience in an academic or managerial position.


• Strong knowledge and expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and/or Data Science, supported by relevant specialisation and/or industry experience.


• Familiarity with the Malaysian higher education landscape and MQA requirements is preferred.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels.


• Ability to manage lecturers, support staff, students and parents.


• Strong command in written and spoken English.
