Job summary

Chubb Malaysia is seeking a senior underwriting leader to drive risk assessment and profitability for Accident & Health products. The role includes ownership of underwriting governance, portfolio performance, and cross-functional product development initiatives.

You will work with legal, compliance, vendor and distribution teams to rollout new products, monitor market trends, and train underwriting staff in line with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the underwriting function to assess risk and underwrite new and renewal Accident & Health business per guidelines, focusing on growth and profitability.
• Monitor revenue and profitability across lines of business, products, channels, and major sponsors; implement timely corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain underwriting processes and frameworks ensuring financial discipline across the value chain."
• Perform portfolio analysis, identify actions to maintain financial targets, and oversee execution of improvement plans.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly performance reports with insightful analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Manage product development life cycle from ideation to launch, coordinating with legal, compliance, IT and distribution channels.
• Collaborate with product leaders and marketing teams on product rollouts, pricing, and marketing materials.
• Maintain documentation of analyses used in product development and approvals; ensure post-launch monitoring aligns with regulations.
• Conduct market intelligence on competitors and regulatory trends; recommend strategic product opportunities.
• Lead training for underwriters and address ongoing development needs for operations teams.
