Position SummaryPlans, develops, and manages the sales activities of LEGOLAND Malaysia, locally, regionally and nationally. Ensures sales attendance and revenue strategies and goals are determined and achieved to support the opening and operating plans.Continually evaluates sales programs to compete successfully with other local and regional attractions and theme parks and stays abreast of industry trends. Directs and manages a staff of sales representatives and support staff and annual budget. Ensures the development of effective partnerships and working relationships with industry, corporations, associations, community groups, schools, military, government and other groups to achieve sales goals.
ResponsibilityDevelops a sales strategy on a local, regional, national and international scale to support LEGOLAND Malaysia's revenue, sales and attendance goals. Formulates, refines, finalizes, and implements a sales operating plan and budget annually and as needed. Sets goals and objectives, develops operating and staffing plans, designs programs and sales promotions for group markets, and determines timelines to meet targets.
Implements and executes strategy, plans and programs through effective leadership, training, utilization of internal and external resources, project and people management, and relationship building and selling skills.
Identifies the need for external resources, defines requirements, reviews and recommends service providers and vendors. Oversees the projects and programs assigned to outside services to maximize effectiveness and manage costs.
Researches, qualifies, solicits and books group, contract and volume accounts. Develops, oversees and facilitates sales promotional activities, and administers promotions. Ensures the complete and thorough administration and management of sales promotional programs and customer contracts.
Staffs professional sales positions and support positions. Assigns sales territories & markets, specialty group responsibility, quotas, and goals. Develops sales presentation materials and a selling style and approach for sales representatives of LEGOLAND Malaysia. Trains, coaches and develops staff by joining sales representatives in the field, observing selling skills, and providing feedback. Makes sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Provides sales program oversight, leadership, training and direction to MCs. Is responsible for hiring, training, development, performance management, team building, and other people management activities. Promotes and demonstrates LEGO's culture and core values through words and actions.
Oversees the creation and maintenance of databases from primary and secondary sources to define and target the market and collect group contacts. Ensures appropriate collateral material exists to support programs. Maintains an awareness of competitor programs and practices and LEGOLAND Malaysia's competitive position in the market.
QualificationsRequires at least eight years of progressive experience in sales and program management in a theme park, hotel or resort, or the attractions with at least 3 years of managerial role.
Requires a track record of success in developing and implementing operational and tactical sales plans.
Requires in-depth knowledge in the areas of strategic marketing and sales, sales program development and operation, selling and sales techniques, exposure to public and community relations, promotions, and visitor services helpful.
Ability to set and manage against objectives and schedules, and effectively plan and manage internal and external and resources.
Requires demonstrated skill in interpersonal relationships, making presentations, negotiations, and verbal and written communications.
Strong training, team building, and project management skills required.
