Job summary

AmBank Group in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Head of Business Operational Control (BOC) to lead operational risk management, compliance governance, and the control framework. The role serves as the primary advisor to Business Management on risk, regulatory compliance, governance, and remediation of control deficiencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Risk Management, Law, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years banking experience with at least 5–7 years in Operational Risk, Compliance, Internal Control, Audit, or Risk Management leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT requirements, BNM regulatory requirements, Risk Governance Frameworks, and Banking operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee operational risk management, compliance governance, and the business control framework to ensure regulatory oversight.
• Act as primary advisor to Business Management on risk, regulatory compliance, governance standards, control effectiveness, and remediation of deficiencies.
• Ensure a strong risk and control culture, compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and independent challenge to business activities.
• Collaborate with Group Operational Risk, Group Compliance, Internal Audit, regulators, and other stakeholders to sustain effective governance.
