ams OSRAM invites a seasoned Head of Department for Frontend Process Development to lead strategic process roadmaps and cross‑functional teams across R&D and manufacturing. The role drives new process introductions, equipment evaluation and collaboration with suppliers to deliver high‑quality chip products and efficiency gains.
Candidates bring 10+ years in semiconductor technology, leadership across multicultural teams, and strong DoE/FMEA expertise.
Owns and executes the FEK specific process development roadmap including allocation of the relevant R&D budget and resources
Planning, setup, coordination and risk management of new process- and eqipment introduction as well as process transfers from RGB to KUL in the context of new chip products and operations efficiency. Initialize and realize ratio and equipment evaluation / procurement projects.
Alignment between R&D and manufacturing needs regarding cross platform synergies, technology re-use, complexity reduction and quality improvement.
Alignment with suppliers and following up process technology- and equipment market trends, cooperation with external partners and industry associations as well as benchmarking of relevant competitor solutions.
Knowledge and skill management in Frontend Processes and Sequences including methodological competences (e.g. DOE planning, statistics, FMEA, eDEV, Infodoc, etc.)
Resource, Investment and Budget Planning for PRO KUL Projects and PRO input to Chip Developement Projects
Requirement
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics or a related field.
10+ years of experience in semiconductor technology.
10+ years of experience in R&D, process development, or process engineering.
10+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
International exposure through global projects, stakeholder management, or overseas collaborations.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor technology and optoelectronic device physics.
Experience in frontend process development and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of DoE, FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis.
Understanding of Cost of Ownership (CoO) and process optimization.
Ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performance teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Fluent in English, Chinese, Malay, and/or German would be an advantage.
