Job summary

We are recruiting for Sri KDU International Football Academy, Kota Damansara, a football academy programme delivered in partnership with a leading English professional club, with further details to be announced.

The Head Coach is responsible for leading the day-to-day football programme and ensuring a consistently high standard of coaching across the academy, while integrating the academy's principles with the school PE program and working with the Academy Director to develop coaches and players.

Qualifications

• Minimum AFC B Coaching Licence or recognised equivalent.
• Strong experience in youth football coaching and a solid understanding of player development.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop coaches.
• Excellent communication, session planning, observation and feedback skills.
• Collaborative, professional and proactive approach, with the ability to maintain consistent coaching standards across multiple teams and programmes.
• Experience working with school PE staff to integrate football coaching principles into a school environment.
• Flexibility to support academy training sessions, school PE programmes and weekend matchdays.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, working in line with company policies, procedures and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day football delivery and maintain high technical standards across all academy teams and programmes.
• Ensure the academy's curriculum, coaching methodology and development principles are implemented consistently.
• Lead designated academy teams alongside wider Head Coach responsibilities.
• Manage and support the coaching team in collaboration with the Academy Director, including observations, feedback and ongoing coach development.
• Maintain high standards of session planning, organisation, coaching behaviour and player engagement.
• Oversee player assessments, development reviews and individual player development across the academy.
• Lead football decisions relating to trials, squad placement, player progression and movement between groups, in consultation with relevant coaches and the Academy Director.
• Act as the main point of contact for parents on football matters, including player development, selection and progression pathways.
• Work collaboratively with the school PE team to integrate the academy's coaching principles, methodology and programme content into the school PE programme.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive and professional environment that reflects the academy's standards and values.

About the role

A key part of the role will also be to work closely with the school PE team to integrate the academy's coaching principles, methodology and programme content into the school PE programme, creating greater consistency between academy and school football delivery. Working closely with the Academy Director, the Head Coach will provide football leadership, oversee coaching standards and ensure the academy provides a professional, positive and development focused environment.
