Job summary

Betamek Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd in Kedah is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop and test electronic hardware for our product lines. You will translate concepts into reliable hardware systems and work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and 2–3 years of hardware design experience, with proficiency in Altium Designer or OrCAD and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in hardware design and development.
• Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD or equivalent PCB design software.
• Solid understanding of circuit theory, digital and analogue electronics, and signal processing.
• Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors and embedded systems.
• Hardware testing, debugging and use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and logic analysers.
• Knowledge of power electronics, RF design or industrial electronics is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and ability to work effectively with design standards

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware components and systems, including schematic capture, circuit design and PCB layout.
• Conduct hardware testing and validation to ensure products meet requirements and industry standards.
• Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve design defects and performance issues.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers, software developers and manufacturing specialists to integrate hardware with broader product solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and user guides.
• Evaluate and select appropriate electronic components and materials to optimise performance, cost and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve product quality and manufacturability.
• Support prototype development and engage in iterative design refinement based on testing feedback.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and electronic engineering standards and regulations.
