Job summary

ECTrons Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge electronic circuits and systems in Penang. The role focuses on circuit design, simulation, and PCB layout using Altium Designer, KiCAD, and LTSpice to deliver high-performance hardware solutions.

The ideal candidate will drive prototyping, testing, and documentation, collaborating with software, mechanical, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Altium Designer or KiCAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Expertise in circuit simulation using LTSpice or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • Knowledge of power supply design, signal conditioning, and mixed-signal interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to identify and resolve hardware issues effectively.
  • Experience in designing circuits for seamless integration with software and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience with high-speed PCB design and EMI/EMC considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex analog and digital circuits for various applications.
  • Perform detailed component selection and schematic capture using Altium Designer or KiCAD.
  • Optimize circuit designs for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Conduct detailed simulations of analog and digital circuits using LTSpice or equivalent tools.
  • Analyze simulation results to validate designs and refine performance.
  • Collaborate with PCB designers to create optimized layouts for high-performance and manufacturability.
  • Ensure designs adhere to SI, EMI/EMC, and thermal management best practices.
  • Lead prototyping of circuit designs, including board assembly and testing.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters for validation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for circuit designs, including schematics, simulations, and test reports.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities

Circuit Design and Development

  • Design and develop complex analog and digital circuits for various applications.
  • Perform detailed component selection and schematic capture using Altium Designer or KiCAD.
  • Optimize circuit designs for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.

Simulation and Analysis

  • Conduct detailed simulations of analog and digital circuits using LTSpice or equivalent tools.
  • Analyze simulation results to validate designs and refine performance.

PCB Design and Layout

  • Collaborate with PCB designers to create optimized layouts for high-performance and manufacturability.
  • Ensure designs adhere to best practices for signal integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal management.

Prototyping and Testing

  • Lead the prototyping of circuit designs, including board assembly and testing.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi meters for validation.

Documentation and Collaboration

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for circuit designs, including schematics, simulations, and test reports.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and system engineers, to ensure seamless integration.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in circuit design and electronic components.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and processes.
Requirements

Circuit Design Tools

  • Proficiency in Altium Designer or KiCAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Analog and Digital Design
