Job summary

Part of the role is physical, and you will be on your feet some of the day, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. There’s a lot of people around in the hotel, so you will need to be able to communicate well with everyone. We would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential.

You are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s recreation facilities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences through well-maintained amenities, engaging activities, and outstanding service. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating programs, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness in all recreational areas, including the pool, fitness center, spa, and outdoor activities.

Guest Services & Experience

Ensure all guests receive personalized, attentive service while using recreation facilities. Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally. Develop and implement engaging recreational programs (e.g., fitness classes, poolside activities, wellness workshops). Promote hotel recreation services to enhance guest participation and satisfaction.

Operations & Facility Management

Oversee the daily operations of the pool, gym and other leisure facilities. Ensure all equipment is well-maintained, clean, and in proper working condition. Monitor and enforce safety and hygiene standards, including pool safety and gym regulations. Manage inventory of recreational supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.

Supervise, train, and motivate recreation staff (lifeguards, fitness instructors, pool attendants, etc.). Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all operational hours. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching for team development.

Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate records of facility usage, incidents, and maintenance reports. Assist in budgeting and cost control for the recreation department. Prepare reports on guest feedback, participation rates, and revenue-generating activities.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety drills and staff training on emergency procedures. Monitor pool chemical levels and liaise with maintenance for any required adjustments.

What we need from you

Diploma /higher education qualification/equivalent in Sports Management, Hospitality, or related field.

Minimum 2 years in recreation operations, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort. Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends/holidays.

Must speak local language. Other languages preferred. Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard, or fitness instructor certifications are a plus.
