Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil is seeking a Host - Safety & Security to safeguard guests and colleagues while delivering courteous service. You will patrol premises, respond to incidents, and collaborate with teams to maintain safety standards, with eligibility restricted to Malaysian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel security, safety, or law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, emergency response, CCTV monitoring, and basic first aid.
• Good communication skills in English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Provides a courteous and professional service at all times.
• Assists with Host duties as requested and required due to operational needs.
• Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
• Handles guest and associate enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up.
• Patrols front of house, back of house and plant rooms to ensure the safety, security and comfort of all guests and colleagues.
• Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
• Conducts enquiries and checks on all security and fire related incidents and submit initial reports.
• Avoids unsightly hazards and complies with all local regulations and codes.
• Ensures effective energy conservation measures in areas of operations.
• Ensures fire, life and safety systems are operational.
• Performs emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g., attending to fire alarms, lift rescue.
• Reports any abnormal conditions noticed at any time in line with safety related equipment or installation to Team Leader – Security and Maintenance and/or the Manager on Duty.
• Assists other Hosts with duties throughout the hotel when requested by Supervisors.
• Supports the implementation of The Hyatt Strategy, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Purpose – We care for people so they can be their best.
• Attends and contributes to all training sessions and meetings as required.
• Completes Welcome to Hyatt Training for new Hires and Learning Activities within first 90 days and review as needed.
• Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel team and Hyatt Hotel Corporation.
• Maintains strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations.
• Reads the hotel's Associate Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to computer resources, fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
• Responds to changes in the maintenance function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
