Job summary

DKSH Malaysia is seeking a General Manager, Sales and Marketing to lead the Exclusive 2 team across Client Management, General Trade, and Modern Trade. You will drive sales strategy, negotiate key contracts, and ensure cross-functional collaboration to achieve ambitious targets.

The role requires a decade of industry experience, strong leadership, and a proven track record in sales leadership and market expansion within Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Business Studies, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity.
• Advanced knowledge of industry, market landscape, and customer dynamics.
• Proven sales track record in assigned territories and products.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills for data-driven decisions.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related tools.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to manage globally diverse teams and drive inclusion.
• Capacity to handle organizational complexity and lead high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage departmental budgets and costs against annual allocations.
• Formulate traditional trade sales strategies for the product portfolio.
• Assign territories, set budgets, and monitor KPIs for performance.
• Develop short- and long-term sales plans adapting to market trends.
• Oversee pricing and contract negotiations with key customers.
• Anticipate competitors and drive new product solutions for customer needs.
• Provide direction on sales forecasting and reporting for visibility.
• Strategize customer base expansion based on current strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement across sales processes and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor working capital by promoting prompt customer payments.
• Establish customer issue resolution processes for timely closures.
• Build long-term strategic relationships with key customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities.
• Set and cascade team goals with clear communication across the organization.
• Lead learning and development in Field Sales and DKSH behaviors.
