Job description

We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to oversee the financial activities for the Group of companies and contribute to the overall financial strategy of the Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Group Financial Reporting

  • Consolidate financial statements from all subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with MFRS/IFRS and corporate policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial reports for the Group, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for the management and board meetings.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes across all subsidiaries.

Group Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead the Group-wide budgeting process, including the consolidation of subsidiary budgets.
  • Develop financial forecasts at the Group level, conducting variance analysis and providing insights to senior management. Ensure alignment of subsidiary budgets with overall corporate financial goals.

Financial Oversight of Subsidiaries

  • Provide financial oversight and support to subsidiary controllers, ensuring consistency in financial practices and reporting. Monitor financial performance of subsidiaries, working with stakeholders to identify trends, mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Provide financial modelling, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses for various commercial initiatives, including pricing changes and market expansions.
  • Review and approve significant financial decisions made by subsidiaries, such as capital investments and cost-saving initiatives.

Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls across the Group to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure group-wide compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate Group-level internal and external audits, addressing any findings and recommendations.

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CFO and/or executive team, contributing to long term business planning and strategy.
  • Assess the financial impact of potential acquisitions, mergers, or other strategic initiatives at the Group level.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary management teams to align financial goals with operational objectives.

Treasury & Capital Efficiency

  • Deliver monthly cash position and annual cash flow forecast reports, estimate financing requirements, and recommend appropriate timing and funding types to support the Group’s growth initiatives.
  • Optimize cash flow, manage liquidity risk, and ensure sufficient funding for business operations and growth (organic / M&A) while adhering to corporate financial policies and guidelines.
  • Manage Group cash pooling, maintain strong banking relationships, oversee and optimize bank account management process and support digital transformation initiatives in treasury operations Identify and mitigate financial risks related to liquidity, FX, and interest rates while ensuring adherence to internal treasury policies and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Group Finance team, including subsidiary teams. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development within the finance function.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews for the Group Finance team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Prior Big 4 / mid-size tier firm’s experience and/or Chartered Certified Accountant – ACCA certified or MIA or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6-12 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Group or corporate financial controller role.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and both international and local reporting standards and regulations.
  • Extensive experience in managing financial operations across multiple subsidiaries, preferably in diverse industries including manufacturing and hospitality.
  • Proven track record of consolidating financial reports and leading Group-level financial planning.
