Job summary

Jora Malaysia, on behalf of its client, seeks a Group Accountant-Consolidation to join the Corporate Head Office in Kuala Lumpur. This full-time permanent role reports to the Group Finance Manager and focuses on group consolidations and statutory accounts for group companies.

You will manage monthly consolidation, prepare financial reports, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards.

Qualifications

  • Malaysian with ACCA/CIMA or Bachelor degree in Accountancy.
  • Member of MIA preferred.
  • 4–6 years of relevant work experience in group finance or listed environment.
  • Up-to-date with Financial Reporting standards.
  • Knowledge of consolidation processes is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead group consolidations and statutory accounts for group companies.
  • Prepare group financial reporting and management reports, annual statutory statements, budget, and tax computations.
  • Manage and review condensed statements and quarterly financial reporting to Bursa Malaysia.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial analysis for senior management.
  • Coordinate annual audit and assist in producing audited financial statements.

Position: Group Accountant-Consolidation.
Position type:Permanent;Full-time.
Salary: RM 8000-10000.
Job location: Central Business District (5 working-day week), Kuala Lumpur.

Our client is a diversified conglomerate group of companies listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia. They are engaged in a wide spectrum of business activities in Malaysia and other Asean region. Currently they are actively seeking qualified Accountants to assume the role of Group Accountant based at their corporate head office in city center, Kuala Lumpur.

About the job role

The position is full time permanent role, reporting to Group Finance Manager. This is a key role within the Finance department in which you will be responsible for Group consolidations, preparing statutory accounts for the Group companies.

As Accountant for the group, you will be overall responsible to perform full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting in compliance with Malaysian Finance Reporting standards and responsible to perform group consolidation and involved in group consolidation and reporting.

The role & duties:
  • Responsible for the Group consolidations and statutory accounts for Group companies.
  • Preparation and review of group financial reporting, including management accounts and reports, annual statutory, financial statements, budget, income tax/deferred tax computation.
  • Manage and prepare condensed statement and quarterly financial reporting to Bursa Malaysia.
  • Preparation of group consolidation of accounts, management reports, financial analysis, budget, interim/annual financial statements.
  • Preparation of monthly management account analysis.
  • In charge of annual audit exercise for the Group and responsible for the preparation of audited financial statements.
Requirements: Candidate profile

The successful candidate will have proven corporate reporting experience including managing the consolidation process.

  • Malaysian with ACCA/CIMA or Bachelor degree in Accountancy.
  • Preferably Member of MIA.
  • Proven at least 4-6 years of relevant work experience in managing group finance in listed environment.
  • Financial/management reporting.
  • Prior initial work experience gained from Big 4 or second tier audit firm would be highly regarded.
  • Technically competent and up to date with relevant technical accounting pronouncement and standards, especially Financial Reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of public-listed companies will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of consolidation skills will be absolute necessary.
  • Must be proficient in English, spoken and written.
  • Advance-level spreadsheets skills.
