Job summary

TERA Data Centers is seeking an experienced power project developer to lead end-to-end greenfield natural gas-fired power plant development in Malaysia. You will oversee feasibility, site selection, permitting, EPC strategy, procurement, construction, and COD, while building a high-performance Power Development team.

The role requires 15+ years in power and capital projects, a proven COD delivery, strong governance and stakeholder negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate with government

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years in power generation, energy infrastructure or major capital projects.
• Proven track record of delivering at least one greenfield natural gas-fired power plant to COD.
• Experience with IPP/power developers/utilities/owner organizations preferred.
• Strong government approvals, land acquisition, permitting and EPC procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of greenfield gas-fired power plant projects.
• Manage full project lifecycle including feasibility, site selection, land acquisition, permitting, licensing, EPC strategy, procurement, construction, commissioning and COD.
• Build and lead the Power Development team and recruit key project personnel.
• Engage with government authorities, regulators, utilities, gas suppliers, EPC contractors, consultants, OEMs and strategic partners.
• Lead contractor prequalification, tendering, evaluation, selection and contract negotiations.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
