About the role

We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of design projects, from branding and digital media to print and advertising materials. As a Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in translating client briefs and marketing objectives into visually compelling designs that resonate with target audiences. This position is integral to our studio's success, as you will be responsible for creating designs that not only meet client expectations but also establish Rock Maestro Sdn Bhd as a leader in graphic design innovation within the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise and create visually appealing graphic designs for various media, including digital, print, web and marketing collateral
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project briefs, objectives and target audience requirements
• Develop design concepts, mood boards and visual presentations to communicate creative ideas and solutions
• Design and produce high-quality graphics for branding, logos, packaging, social media, websites and advertising campaigns
• Ensure all designs maintain brand consistency and adhere to client guidelines and specifications
• Utilise industry-standard design software and tools to produce polished, print-ready and digital-ready artwork
• Incorporate client feedback and revisions throughout the design process to achieve desired outcomes
• Stay updated with current design trends, industry best practices and emerging technologies in graphic design
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
• Collaborate with other designers, copywriters and team members to ensure cohesive and integrated creative solutions

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience working as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your creative capabilities and diverse design work
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), CorelDRAW or equivalent tools
• Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, colour theory, composition and layout
• Excellent knowledge of print production processes and digital file formats and specifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and ideas
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and accept constructive feedback
• Proficiency in time management with the capability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free work
• Creative problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to design challenges
• Familiarity with web design or UI/UX design principles is advantageous
• Experience with video editing or motion graphics would be a valued addition
• Knowledge of digital marketing and social media design trends would be beneficial
