Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is launching a Graduate Trainee program in Penang to kickstart your career in modern infrastructure engineering. You will join the IT Infrastructure team and tackle automating repetitive operations, building self-service tooling, and prototyping practical AI solutions for smarter operations.

You will work with Python, IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and Linux across a fleet of x86 servers. Mentorship is provided and high performers may secure a permanent role on the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and scripting/automation concepts.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Automate infrastructure operations using Python and IaC to reduce manual tasks.
• Build self-service tooling and workflows for provisioning resources.
• Prototype AI solutions for infrastructure, including runbooks and alert triage.
• Support reliability through monitoring and automation improvements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and operations staff to gather requirements.
