Job summary

AIST Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a proactive Government Relations Specialist to engage with Malaysian regulators and navigate the evolving policy landscape.

The role focuses on building trusted relationships across government levels and aligning policy with business priorities. You will monitor developments, assess impacts, and collaborate with Legal, Development, Operations, and Finance to ensure compliant, strategic growth in the e-hailing ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ Government Relations experience.
• Hands-on experience with government at multiple levels is essential.
• Experience with MOT, MOE, MOF or Ministry of Human Resources is an advantage.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor policy developments, proposed regulations, legislation, and government initiatives that may affect our business.
• Assess the operational, legal, and economic impact of existing and emerging regulations.
• Represent the company in policy discussions, sharing industry insights and practical recommendations.
• Build and manage relationships with government stakeholders at all levels.
• Serve as the company’s liaison with government institutions and manage regulatory communications.
• Coordinate with Legal, Development, Operations, Finance, and Management teams to align policy developments with business priorities.
• Support internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance alignment.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with the government on industry growth, innovation, and public policy.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 3 years’ experience in Government Relations.
• Hands-on experience working with the government at multiple levels is essential.
• Experience with MOT, MOE, MOF, or the Ministry of Human Resources is an advantage.
• E-hailing industry experience is a plus.
• A degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of government structures, processes, and resources.
• Excellent official correspondence and negotiation skills, including engagement with senior officials.
• Strong political analysis skills and the ability to track regulatory change and assess business impact.
• Experience planning and delivering long-term, multi-stage initiatives.
• The ability to shape a Government Relations strategy and manage reputational risks.
• A self-driven, adaptable team player who can work independently and thrive under pressure in a dynamic, matrix organization..
