Partner with procurement and supply chain to enforce supplier code of conduct with RBA.
Define and drive Health and Safety initiatives.
Implement a Life-Cycle Impact Assessment (LCA) approach.
Support EHS certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Report metrics to investors, board, customers and local communities.
Define and drive EcoDesign for sustainable manufacturing.
Coordinate stakeholder communications and sustainability reporting plans.
Multisite coordination for factories in Malaysia, China and Germany.
Act as company ambassadors on EHS and Sustainability inquiries.
Monitor and prepare for changing legal obligations and standards.

Job description

Position Summary

The Global Sustainability Officer at Lumileds is responsible for leading the development, implementation and steering of the Corporate Sustainability and Health & Safety programs at Lumileds. In this role constant alignment with internal and external stakeholders is required to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and customer requirements, promoting socially responsible practices, establishing policies and enhancing overall the ESG and Sustainability performance indicators.

What You Will Do

Lead the Corporate Sustainability (ESG) strategy, program and targets, allowing to reduce our carbon footprint, resource (water, electricity) consumption and waste-to-landfill.

Manage compliance with rules and regulations like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD/ESRS) and international environmental laws.

Partner with procurement and supply chain to enforce our supplier code of conduct in alignment with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standard.

Define and drive Health and Safety initiatives to reduce and prevent sources for incidents continuously.

Implement a Life-Cycle Impact Assessment (LCA) approach.

Active support to main EHS related certifications (e.g. ISO14001, ISO45001).

Report metrics transparently to investors, board members, customers, and local communities.

Define and drive the EcoDesign approach for sustainable manufacturing of products.

Coordinate stakeholder communications and sustainability reporting plans.

Multisite coordination for factories in Malaysia, China and Germany.

Act as company ambassadors on EHS and Sustainability related inquiries.

Monitor and prepare the organization to comply with changing legal obligations and requirements from standards.

What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications)

Strong Leadership and Communication skills

10+ years in environmental management or sustainability, with at least 5 years in a global leadership role. Industry background in semiconductors, electronics, or advanced manufacturing is strongly preferred.

Deep expertise in GHG Protocol (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), carbon-free energy sourcing, and reporting frameworks like GRI or CSRD.

Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage sustainability efficiently.

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, occupational health and safety,

Solid knowledge of labor, health & safety regulations, and/or environmental regulations/issues

Excellent English (verbal and written communication & presentation skills).

Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, process & solution-orientated thinking

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience with Sustainability tools (e.g. Sphera) and LCA/LCF tools

International and domestic travel might be required (~10%)

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field of engineering; advanced degree is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in auditing processes and management systems is a plus

Certified lead auditor for current ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards is an asset
