Job summary

Kitron in Senai, Johor seeks aSenior Sourcing Engineer to lead supplier selection and cost-down initiatives for NPI projects. You will evaluate mechanical components, coordinate with global teams, and drive supplier performance to meet build schedules.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in EMS sourcing, strong negotiation and analytics, and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. The role is on-site in Malaysia with opportunities to collaborate across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing mechanical engineering, preferably in EMS.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical categories (metal, plastic, die-casting, stamping) and sourcing channels.
• Good understanding of mechanical category and sourcing channels.
• Proven strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Preference for candidates with an established mechanical supplier base in Malaysia.
• Skilled in supplier negotiation, cost breakdown analysis, and price benchmarking.
• Able to work independently and coordinate with global and cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, self-driven, and excellent at troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage supplier identification & governance across components required for NPI.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather supplier feedback and address service-related issues.
• Assist in supplier audits with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure supplier activities meet regulatory and customer requirements (RoHS, REACH, export controls).
• Support cost-down initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers, materials, or processes.
• Lead RFQ quotations, price benchmarking, and should-cost analysis for NPIs.
• Negotiate prices for equipment/fixtures and review supplier qualifications.
• Set up annual sourcing KPIs and develop Site Sourcing Plan.
• Report on sourcing KPIs and drive improvements to meet annual targets.
• Optimize daily sourcing methods and processes and perform ad-hoc duties.
