Job summary

NMQ Digital in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Global Senior IT Specialist to join our hybrid team. You will manage server infrastructure, monitor systems, support network operations, and provide senior technical escalation for global users.

The role requires 4–5 years of IT experience, strong server/network/cloud skills, and familiarity with cybersecurity best practices; AI/automation know-how is a plus. Working hours are 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, 3 days on-site.

Qualifications

Advanced Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Extensive Experience: Demonstrate 4-5 years of experience as a seasoned IT Specialist, with a strong emphasis on server, network, and cloud application management in a global environment.
Deep Technical Knowledge: Exhibit a profound understanding of server administration, network protocols, security principles, and cloud computing technologies, with hands-on expertise in their implementation.
Disaster Recovery Expertise: Show familiarity with disaster recovery planning and business continuity best practices.
Advanced Problem-Solving: Display excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, especially when dealing with complex technical challenges, and an ability to provide innovative solutions.
Management Skills: Be detail oriented and well organized, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Effective Communication: Maintain excellent communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts and solutions clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
AI & Automation Knowledge: Familiarity with AI-powered IT tools and automation platforms (e.g., AI-assisted monitoring, scripting/RPA, AI-based support tools), with the ability to evaluate their fit and integrate them into day-to-day operations and IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

Server Infrastructure Support: Take an active role in the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, and execute approved changes and upgrades.
Proactive Monitoring: Implement advanced monitoring and alerting solutions to continuously assess server health and resource utilization, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to prevent downtime, and minimizing any negative impact on operations.
Network Infrastructure Support: Support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network infrastructure, executing approved improvements to help keep the network secure and efficient.
Global Technical Support: Serve as a senior point of escalation for complex technical issues related to servers, network systems, and cloud applications, providing expert-level troubleshooting and support to global users.
Cybersecurity Support: Serve as a senior point of escalation for cybersecurity-related issues, providing expert-level support in resolving security incidents, conducting phishing simulations, and enhancing user awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
Compliance Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity compliance standards and regulations, including ISO 27001, GDPR and their associated security controls and best practices.
Comprehensive Documentation: Prepare, maintain and enhance comprehensive technical documentation, including advanced network diagrams and in-depth troubleshooting guides.
Project Involvement: Play an active role in critical implementation projects and system upgrades to ensure transitions with minimal disruption to business operations, in line with best practices.
AI and Automation Adoption: Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation tools — such as scripting, RPA, AI-assisted monitoring, and AI-driven ticketing/support systems — and support the implementation of approved solutions to streamline IT initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the IT team, sharing knowledge and best practices to support continuous improvement in day-to-day IT operations.
