Job summary

SD Guthrie Berhad seeks an accomplished engineering leader to drive enterprise engineering strategy and portfolio governance across the Group. You will coordinate capital projects, set standards, and align initiatives with sustainability and transformation objectives across international units.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in large-scale engineering programmes, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record in asset-intensive industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
• Professional Engineering certification or registration preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience delivering large-scale initiatives.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering programmes across international locations.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries advantageous.
• Exposure to enterprise transformation, capital project governance and organisational change management desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the Group-wide engineering roadmap aligned to priorities.
• Identify opportunities to integrate engineering initiatives across businesses for maximum synergy.
• Ensure investments support long-term growth, sustainability and operational excellence.
• Establish and oversee a Group engineering portfolio management framework.
• Monitor progress, risks, dependencies and performance of initiatives.
• Escalate issues and recommend interventions to ensure delivery on time and budget.
• Facilitate enterprise-wide prioritisation and sequencing of projects.
• Drive value engineering to improve cost effectiveness without sacrificing safety or quality.
• Promote engineering standards, best practices and knowledge sharing across the Group.
• Build partnerships with senior stakeholders to ensure commitment to engineering priorities.
• Identify emerging trends and capabilities relevant to the Group's strategy.
