Job summary

Novonesis is seeking a Project EHS Engineer to represent the client and drive Environmental, Health & Safety standards across an overseas project portfolio. You will help ensure safe construction and commissioning, regulatory compliance, and a strong EHS culture on site, spanning multiple sites and cultures.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, at least 3 years in EHS on construction or industrial projects, field‑based work, and ability to work with contractors and multinational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in construction or industrial project environments.
• Solid knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices for construction or industrial sites.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations and follow through on corrective actions.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with contractors and multinational teams.
• Proactive, hands-on mindset with willingness to spend significant time in the field.

Responsibilities

• Supporting implementation of EHS policies, standards and procedures across overseas projects.
• Ensuring construction and commissioning activities comply with local EHS laws, company standards and GMP-related EHS requirements.
• Conducting EHS risk assessments, defining mitigation measures and following up on corrective actions; monitoring contractor compliance with safety plans, permits to work and PPE.
• Performing site inspections and audits, identifying unsafe conditions or behaviours and driving preventive actions.
• Supporting incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis and lessons-learned sharing across project sites.
• Supporting environmental compliance related to waste, wastewater, air emissions, noise, dust and chemical handling.
• Coordinating EHS inductions, toolbox talks and on-site safety communication.
• Preparing regular EHS reports, including KPIs, incidents, inspections and action tracking, for project and management teams.
