Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Penang seeks a Sr Category Supplier Manager (Evergreen) to lead strategic sourcing for MOD/SSD direct materials, including PCB, passives, enclosures, and hardware.

You will guide global supplier strategies, manage cross-functional teams and drive multi-year capacity commitments. The role requires 5+ years in procurement or supply chain, strong negotiation skills, and experience with global categories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a similar field.
• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain management, preferably in electronics/hardware.
• Proven experience in global category strategies and sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation abilities with cost reductions and multi-year commitments.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and financial information.
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain software/tools.
• Strong project management to lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of supplier risk management and compliance.
• Experience with MOD/SSD direct materials (PCB, passive components, enclosures, hardware) is valued.
• Certifications in supply chain (CPSM, CIPS, CPM) appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Plan for the category.
• Track sourcing strategies and contract compliance, resolving constraints.
• Lead a global materials team for outstanding results.
• Chair cross-functional Material Strategy Team forums with engineering, supplier quality, and sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan sourcing direction.
• Communicate sourcing trends and results to Category Director.
• Negotiate LTAs/MOUs for multi-year capacity, priority, and pricing.
• Drive supplier diversification and supply resilience.
• Identify savings levers and deliver category savings and scorecard targets.
• Manage senior-level supplier relationships and conduct performance evaluations.
