Job summary

Air Liquide Kuala Lumpur is recruiting an experienced General Ledger Team Lead to manage a regional SL and ensure accurate financial reporting for the APAC affiliates. You will drive process optimization, maintain control environments, and lead a diverse team across South East Asia.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years SSC/GBS finance experience, and strong English communication. Hybrid work setup with a dynamic multinational team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Fluent in English.
• At least 5 years of experience in an SSC/GBS finance & accounting environment.
• Minimum of 4 team members of people management experience
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, local, and international accounting standards.
• Possess strong team player qualities, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership of assigned duties.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Journal Review: Sanity checks for accounting treatment and ensure supporting docs for compliance.
• IRIS Reporting: Verify P&L, BS, Cash Flow and ensure comments are logical and accurate.
• Reconciliations: Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and lead cleanup for hard-close adjustments.
• Balance Sheet Integrity: Ensure integrity through rigorous reconciliation and timely journal adjustments.
• Compliance: Conduct internal control activities per group policies.
• Audit Support: Review audit requests, workings, and commentaries for audits.
• Centralization Initiatives: Develop reporting processes for centralization and cost efficiency.
• Quality Leadership: Oversee deliverables and lead Finance Process Improvement Projects.
• Team Leadership: Manage a portfolio across South East Asia.
• Ad-hoc guidance on journal entries, cost allocations, and invoices.
• Monitor invoices and process billing requests; perform true-ups and communicate results with affiliates.
• Validate and approve Oracle AME, Gideons DN, and CN invoices.
