Job summary

PPG is seeking a GL Accounting Specialist in Shah Alam, Malaysia to ensure accurate accounting for all transactions in the local books, including accruals and reversals. The role reports to Assistant Manager – General Ledger Accounting and requires solid GAAP knowledge.

You will analyze accounts, perform month-end close journals, reconcile ledgers, and prepare books under US and local GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) is preferred, with experience in MNCs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accounting with at least 2 years' GL accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• ERP experience – Oracle/SAP would be of added advantage.
• Experience with MNC or public listed company.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
• Inventive and a phenomenal teammate.

Job description

As a GL Accounting Specialist, you will need to ensure accurate accounting for all transactions booked in the location's books. Making and reversing accruals as required to reflect the operations of the company. You will be reporting to Assistant Manager – General Ledger Accounting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accounting with at least 2 years of working experience in GL accounting experiences
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Have Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience – Oracle/SAP would be of added advantage
• Experience with MNC or public listed company
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin (both verbal and written).
• Inventive and a phenomenal teammate!
