Job summary

Shopee Malaysia is hiring a Senior Accountant to manage timely accounting transactions, month-end closing, and accurate financial reporting. You will lead reconciliations, coordinate with HQ finance, and drive process improvements with analytics and automation where possible.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and at least 3 years of experience; Big 4 audit exposure is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience.
• Big 4 audit experience is an advantage.
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely processing of accounting transactions with high accuracy.
• Review reconciliations and coordinate with relevant parties to investigate and resolve differences.
• Lead discussions with Business/Operations, HQ finance, and Finance Operations on setting up process flows and reports.
• Responsible for month end closing and meeting deadlines.
• Prepare meaningful and high-quality analyses on financial statements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Support external and internal audits and resolve issues raised.
• Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiencies.
• Improve existing processes to drive efficiency in reconciliation and reporting.
